Honda prices 2014 Ridgeline, Pilot and Acura TL

Fri, 06 Sep 2013

Honda revealed pricing and equipment on several models on Sept. 5. The 2014 Acura TL will start at $36,925 including destination. The 2014 Honda Pilot has a base price of $30,500 while the new Ridgeline can be had for $30,405.

The Acura TL line basically carries over from 2013 with the same 280-hp, 3.5-liter V6 and the 305-hp, 3.7-liter V6 for all-wheel-drive models. A six-speed automatic is standard on all but one trim.

Three main packages are offered: Technology, Advance and Special Edition. The Tech Package gets keyless entry, Milano leather, navigation, rearview camera, traffic and weather. As for audio, Tech Package adds a 10-speaker, 440-watt premium audio system with satellite radio and a 3,500-song hard drive.

The Advance Package includes the Technology upgrades and adds heated and ventilated front seats, and blind spot indicators. The Special Edition features 10-spoke, 18-inch alloy wheels, a color-matched decklid spoiler and Special Edition badging.

When maxed out, the Acura TL could sticker for $45,540.

The 2014 Honda Pilot starts under $30,000 for the two-wheel-drive version. With all of the boxes checked the eight-passenger SUV will top out at $42,250.

The 2014 Pilot is offered with just one engine: a 3.5-liter V6 making 250 hp, which uses both Honda's i-VTEC and variable cylinder management to improve fuel economy ratings. A five-speed automatic features Grade Logic Control, which maintains an appropriate gear when climbing or descending hills, and variable torque management, which sends power to the rear wheels when the front tires slip.

The Pilot offers 18 cubic feet of space behind the third row, and with both rows folded down owners get 69 cubic feet more. The seats can be arranged in 16 different configurations, depending on need.

All Pilot models come with an 8-inch Multi-Information Display, rearview camera, iPod album artwork display, wallpaper function, Bluetooth, USB connection and automatic climate controls. EX and EX-L models add a 2-gigabyte music library, while Pilot EX and above models also include a 10-way power-adjustable driver's seat and tri-zone automatic climate control. Topped out, the Pilot will sell for $42,250.

The Honda Ridgeline pickup adds a top-of-the-line Special Edition model for 2014. Like the Pilot it uses a 250-hp version of the company's 3.5-liter V6, with a five-speed automatic transmission.

The base model comes with 17-inch steel wheels, integrated trailer hitch, prewiring for 7-pin trailer hook up, keyless entry, power windows and door locks, power sliding rear window, air conditioning, tilt steering wheel, cruise control, trip computer, a six-speaker audio system and a rearview camera. Upgraded models add bigger wheels, a few exterior styling changes, a power driver's seat, dual-zone climate control, moonroof, leather and a few other improvements.

With all options added the Ridgeline SE, which arrives in November, will sell for $38,335.
