Hyundai Hexa Space concept

Wed, 18 Jan 2012

Hyundai debuted its Hexa Space concept at the Delhi Auto Expo, where its claimed this design revolutionizes the use of interior space.

Externally, the Hexa Space evolves Hyundai's Fluidic Sculpture design language. While its lower body is reminiscent of last year's Curb concept, the more angular surface treatment marks a new direction for the brand. As the name suggests, hexagons form a repeated graphic motif both outside and in.

The interior itself features three rows of seats, which offer multiple seating configurations. The eight slim, hexagonal-based seats fit together like puzzle pieces, maximizing internal space and minimizing the overall width of the car by their overlap. As is par for the MPV course, all seats fold flat and offer a range of user scenarios, from a ‘limousine function' through to camping with all 8 seats folded flat into a bed. Ingress and egress are aided through the use of wide opening doors that lift outward and backward in one motion.
