The Hyundai ix20 - on sale in November

We got teased with the next instalment of the Hyundai world domination plan – the Hyundai ix20 – a few weeks before the Paris Motor Show, but only as a sketch tease. We had to wait another couple of weeks to get a real photo of the ix20 and then a reveal at Paris.

But despite it only being last month that we got the first tease on the ix20 Hyundai will be ready to take orders next month, which means we’ll need to know what’s on offer and how much it costs.

You won’t be astonished to learn that the ix20 is competitively priced. The minis MPV / Crossover Hyundai starts at just £11,595 for the entry-level 1.4 petrol and rises to £15,095 for the top spec diesel and petrol.

All Hyundai ix20s get half a dozen airbags, ESP , CD, MP3, RDS and USB-/AUX-/iPOD-input and AirCon as standard, even the entry level Classic trim.

Make the jump to the Active trim level and you can add parkings sensors, Bluetooth, electric rear windows, audio controls on the leather-trimmed steering wheel and 16″ alloys. The top level ‘Style’ trim throws in a panaoramic split sunroof, electric door mirrors and front fogs.

Prices start at £11,595 for the Hyundai ix20 Classic 1.4 petrol, with the diesel £1,400 more. The Hyundai ix20 Active costs £1,100 more than the Classic at £12,695 for the 1.4-litre petrol, £14,095 for the diesel and £14,095 for the 1.6-litre petrol auto. Top of the tree Hyundai ix20 Style starts at £13,695 for the 1.4-litre petrol, £15,095 for the diesel and £15,095 for the 1.6-litre petrol auto. The only other cost is £395 for metallic paint.

At these prices there is a very good chance the Hyundai ix20 will be another Hyundai sales success.
