Italdesign Giugiaro Parcour Concept: Geneva Motor Show

Tue, 05 Mar 2013

ItalDesign Giugiaro – owned by Volkswagen – has created a compact SUV crossover – the Italdesign Giugiaro Parcour Concept – based on Lamborghini underpinnings.

The Giugiaro Parcour – named after the odd French habit of bouncing off buildings – has been developed as both a coupe and a roadster (you can see both in the pictures above) and uses the potent 542bhp 5.2 litre V10 from the Lamborghini Gallardo as well as a Lambo 4WD system to create what ItalDesign say is a blend of crossover, SUV, sports car and GT. All bases covered, then.

You could perhaps see the Giugiaro Parcour as the Lamborghini take on the Range Rover Evoque, but with the thumping great V10 under the bonnet it scoots to 62mph in a very un-Evoque 3.6 seconds and on to 199mph.

ItalDesign say the Giugiaro Parcour has an all new type os suspension using eight coil-overs – two at each corner – to achive what pushrods would and offer a better balance of on and off road performance.

There’s no sign of the Giugiaro Parcour going in to production, but with its Lancia Stratos looks, on and off-road abilities and extreme performance it’s a tempting proposition as a Lamborghini.

And a lot more appealing than the daft Lamborghini Veneno.
