Jaguar’s F-Type Coupe British Villains launches in the UK

With the new Jaguar F-Type Coupe about to hit UK roads in the hands of its first customers, Jaguar is ramping up the marketing for the stunning F-Type Coupe as it seeks to get the message across that ‘It’s Good to be Bad’ (#GoodToBeBad). As we reported in January, Jaguar has enlisted the services of Sir Ben Kingsley, Tom Hiddleston and Mark Strong to play a trio of British Villains in an advert for the new F-Type Coupe, which debuted at the Super Bowl earlier this year.

And no it’s the turn of the Uk to get the F-Type marketing onslaught with the first airing of the British Villains advert during last night’s UEFA Champions League match between Manchester United and Bayern Munich on ITV and plans to run it in one minute and 30 second versions during April and May on ITV, Channel 4 and Sky Atlantic.

You also won’t be able to escape the F-Type if you go to the cinema, as Jaguar has a special two minute version of the advert to run prior to the screening of big films like ‘The Grand Budapest Hotel’ and ‘Captain America’.

Ken Forbes, Jaguar’s UK Marketing Director, said:

The new F-TYPE Coupé is the most exciting sports car Jaguar has ever produced, so this advertisement and supporting campaign had to be equally engaging.

The ‘British Villains’ theme has already proved extremely popular, with more than 12 million views for ‘Rendezvous’ recorded online. I am delighted that during April and May, the best in British film talent will be seen on screens across Great Britain as part of this innovative Jaguar campaign.

But although the British Villains advert is clearly focused on the new F-Type Coupe, the halo effect for Jaguar should see some of the stardust filtering down to less overtly sporty models in the Jaguar range as viewers lap up the coolness of the F-Type Coupe.

Which should boost sales across the Jaguar range as well as see the F-Type Coupes fly out of showrooms as fast as Jaguar can build them.
