Jaguar Land Rover reveals best ever sales

Mon, 13 Jan 2014

Jaguar Land Rover has announced it sold 425,006 vehicles in 2013 – a 19% rise on 2012, making it the firm’s best-ever year for global sales.

Land Rover itself set another record, with 348,338 retail sales resulting in a 15% boost on 2012. For Jaguar, 76,668 sales made 2013 the division’s best year since 2005 – and was a 42% rise on 2012.

MORE new British jobs for Jaguar Land Rover

Overall, Jaguar Land Rover set sales records in 38 countries worldwide, and became the FASTEST GROWING car brand of all in the USA, Germany and India.

Sales in China and the Asia Pacific helped drive the growth, with increases of 20%. North America was up 21% though – it remains JLR’s most important single market – with the UK up 14% and Europe up 6% (that’s despite the region’s depressed sales in 2013, too).

Dr. Ralf Speth, Jaguar Land Rover CEO said: “2013 has proven to be a very positive year for Jaguar Land Rover thanks to continuing strong demand for vehicles across the range.

“Our unrelenting focus on design, technology, innovation and quality has seen Jaguar Land Rover reach global consumers in more markets than ever before thanks to its most desirable product line-up, enriched further in 2013 by the Jaguar F-Type and all-new Range Rover Sport”.

Proof of just how desirable this product line-up is came from the firm’s tally of awards last year: in 2013 alone, JLR picked up no less than 195 awards! This was split between 80 for Jaguar (including a top UK brand spot in the J. D. Power Vehicle Ownership Satisfaction Survey) and a full 115 for Land Rover.

Andy Goss, Jaguar Land Rover Group Sales Operations Director revealed that the F-Type was the firm’s star performer, “receiving more than 59 accolades. This recognition is a demonstration that Jaguar Land Rover’s focus is on delivering cars that surpass customer expectations.”
