The firts look at the Jaguar XQ SUV (pictured) as it leaks out ahead of a Frankfurt debut

Jaguar Land Rover don’t have a lot of luck keeping their concept cars under wraps ahead of their official debut. And so it is with the Jaguar SUV/Crossover. The Jaguar C-X17 Concept – which previews a new Jaguar platform and the first look at a compact-ish SUV Crossover – is due to arrive in a few days at the Frankfurt Motor Show.

But the Interwebs being what they are, the first photo of the C-X17 has already leaked out in to the wild to give us a taste of what is to come.

And what’s to come is pretty much as expected, with an exaggerated take on Jaguar’s saloons at the front and, judging from the teaser photo Jaguar released of the C-X17 earlier, it would seem their will be an SUV-like take on the rear lights of trhe F-Type going on behind.

When the Jaguar Crossover does hit Jaguar showrooms – which probably won’t be before 2015 – we can expect to see a range of engined from V6 diesels to the new 4-cylinder engines JLR are currently working on and no doubt a hybrid too.

The general consensus is that the Jaguar Crossover will come with the Jaguar XQ moniker, which neatly combines the suffix from two cars it will have ion its firing line – the BMW X3 and Audi Q5.

We’ll see more than just the butch front end of theĀ Jaguar XQ Concept in the next few days.
