Land Rover sending more Range Rover Evoques to the US

Fri, 20 Jul 2012

Land Rover are increasing the supply of the new Range Rover Evoque to the US by a third to help meet demand.

In the land where cubic inches are king and any SUV smaller than a Hummer isn’t really an SUV, it’s amazing that the dinky Range Rover Evoque is a hit – but it is.

From sales of just 2,200 Evoques in 2011, Land Rover has managed to shift twice that in the first six months of 2012, and Land Rover dealers are still complaining they can’t get enough Evoques to meet demand.

So, with more workers at Halewood and capacity for Evoque production increasing, Land Rover is managing to up the US allocation of the new Evoque from 750 cars a month to 1,000 to try and ensure that American buyers – not renowned as the most patient in the world – don’t give up on the Evoque and go elsewhere.

Land Rover sales in the US are already up by 20 per cent in the last year, and with more Evoques heading to the colonies and the 2013 Range Rover getting ready to roll out to customers in early 2013, it looks like 2013 could be another record sales year for Land Rover.

Ford must be ruing the day they sold Land Rover (and Jaguar) to Tata.
