Fri, 08 Jun 2012

Lexus has unveiled its ES350 and ES300h luxury sedans as part of the 2013 generation of the brand's ES lineup since its introduction over twenty years ago.

The new ES remains front-wheel drive but has a lower, longer profile than its predecessor and also incorporates the brand’s signature spindle grille, with the "L" design motif reflected in the LED daytime running lights and rear lamps.

The 2013 ES is 25mm longer at 4895mm, with a wheelbase of 2819mm, up 46mm. It stands 1450mm high and 1821mm wide. The result is a car with shorter overhangs and increased cabin space with rear headroom increased by 20mm, knee room by 71mm and legroom by 104mm.

Inside, the IP follows a similar architecture to the larger GS with a large central screen mounted high under a separate cowl. The overall theme is made of slim, horizontal features and a clear attempt to improve perceived quality. Second-generation Remote Touch Interface (RTI) with its mouse-like joystick features on the center console.
