Lexus Refreshes Popular CT 200h

Thu, 21 Nov 2013

DEMONSTRATING the importance of China’s Guangzhou motor show, Japanese luxury car maker Lexus chose this venue and not its home market show to unveil its refreshed CT 200h.

Just as the Guangzhou show is a big deal, the CT model range has become an increasingly important part of the car maker’s business. For example, in the UK it’s the dominant Lexus model.

Visually the CT has benefited from a light cosmetic refresh centering on the car’s nose, which is now closer in style to the rest of the recently upgraded Lexus range.

Subtle changes to the car’s rear bumper, the design of alloy wheels, cabin trim and inclusion of a new sat-nav screen complete the aesthetic revisions.

The real changes have taken place under the skin where Lexus has taken onboard customer feedback and changed the car’s suspension settings to deliver a more compliant ride. Factor in improvements to soundproofing and CVT gearbox and the CT’s overall performance is said to be more refined.

Further tangible savings have been made in the emissions department, with a useful drop in C02 ratings extending from 82g/km when on 15-inch wheels to 88g/km for the petrol-electric hybrid when riding on 16-inch wheels.

UK buyers will have to wait until next spring for the revised CT to hit the showrooms, with prices expected to be announced in January.
