Fri, 01 Nov 2013

TRAFFIC CHAOS has been brought to one of Britain's busiest motorways after the M25 has had to be closed for the second time in three days - again due to a serious accident involving an overturned lorry.

Today's incident, which is resulting in long tailbacks, has resulted in injuries to two people, with one in a critical condition, police said.

The stretch of road shut is the M25 between junction 23 at South Mimms in Hertfordshire and junction 25 at the junction with the A10 north of Enfield in north London.

Police, firefighters and ambulance teams all attended today's incident which was between junction 24 at Potters Bar and junction 25.

While one man remains in a critical condition, the other is being treated for serious injuries. Both have been taken to hospital by London Ambulance Service. No other vehicles were involved.

On Tuesday, the M25 had to be closed between J23-25 after the driver of a lorry died when the vehicle overturned and caught fire near J25.
