Mercedes C 63 AMG Edition 507 at Geneva 2013 with more power & bigger spec

Fri, 01 Feb 2013

Mercedes has revealed a final version of the C63 AMG – the C 63 AMG Edition 507 – with more power and bigger specification  Debuts at Geneva 2013.

Mercedes will have plenty to show visitors to Switzerland next month – including the new CLA – and they’ll also have this morning’s Mercedes news – the Mercedes C 63 AMG Edition 507.

The C63 AMG Edition 507 - available as saloon, coupe or estate –  looks like a final hurrah for the current C Class AMG (the new C Class will arrive in 2014), and Mercedes has made a decent effort to make the Edition 507 more than just a jump in power.

The jump in power for the Edition 507 sees the C63 AMG get 500bhp (or 507PS – hence the moniker) and a smidgen of extra torque too (a whole 8lb/ft), courtesy of  the forged pistons from the SLS AMG, and new connecting rods and a lightweight crankshaft. That’s enough to cut the 0-62mph time of the standard C63 by 0.2 seconds to 4.2 seconds (or a tenth more in the estate).

The Edition 507 gets Mercedes’ AMG Driver’s Package as standard, which means top speed is 174mph, 19″ alloys, red brake calipers with high performance brakes, aluminium bonnet with air vents from the C63 AMG Black Series and gloss black for the mirrors, grill surround and bootlid spoiler.

Inside, the Edition 507 gets a choice of porcelain designo leather/DINAMICA, black designo leather/DINAMICA and black designo leather, AMG performance steering wheel with contrast stitching, DINAMICA finish for the gear lever, red highlights on the instruments and Piano Black gloss trim.

We don’t have prices for the UK for the Edition 507, but expect those to arrive at Geneva.
