Mercedes G-Class by Vilner – fit for Cinderella

Mercedes G-Class by Vilner

Bulgarian tuner Vilner has taken the Mercedes-Benz G-Class, re-trimmed it and made it in to an off-road carriage fit for Cinderella.

It must be pantomime season when car makers (well, car tuners in the shape of Bulgaria’s Vilner) send out a press release for a product with half of it taken up with references to Cinderella. Yes, it seems the new Mercedes G-Class by Vilner is a carriage for for Cinderella.

Vilner claim to have assumed the mantle of Charles Perrault (author of the The Little Glass Slipper, the basis for Cinderella) to imagine what Cinderella’s hollowed-out pumpkin would turn in to after a wave of the Fairy Godmother’s wand in 2011. And it would appear Cinders would have a Mercedes G-Class with lashings of leather, Alcantara and chrome.

The whole of the Vilner G-Class is swathed in cow hide, from the seats and the dash to the rear view mirror and the plastic bits of the seat belts. If it can be chromed it has been, the ceiling is divided by a big swathe of Alcantara and much of the leather on show has been quilted.

Vilner has also added a Ground Zero Sound System so Cinderella can enjoy her favourite sounds on the way to the ball, and there are twinkling LEDs on the outside to light her way and add an extra sprinkle of fairy dust. It’s all a bit more OTT than the recent Land Rover Defender by Vilner, but it’s in the same mould of taking a true off-roader and making it for for a Prince. Or Cinderella. Or an Oligarch.

The Mercedes G-Class by Vilner: a beautiful fairy tale. According to Vilner.
