Mercedes-Benz U.S. chief has been “excused” from his duties effective immediately, according to a Daimler spokesman.
Ernst Lieb, 56, had held the position since 2006. Herbert Werner, head of finance and controlling, will run the daily business of Mercedes operations in the U.S. market until “further notice,” the spokesman said.
The company declined further comment.
