Mon, 05 Oct 2009

Michelin Challenge Design (MCD) is pleased to announce the 2011 Program Pre-Registration is now available at www.michelinchallengedesign.com.

Milestones are opportunities for reflection and forward thinking. Michelin is doing both to celebrate the 10th year of its global transportation design competition, the Michelin Challenge Design. What began back in 2000 as a forum for people who share a passion for vehicle design and innovation has grown to garner hundreds of inspired entries annually spanning 85 countries. Over the last decade, Michelin Challenge Design participants have submitted vehicle design concepts for personal and public transport addressing a broad range of geographic themes and industry issues.

Michelin is now looking at the next ten years as the creative foundation for the 2011 Michelin Challenge Design:

'PLUS 10'
The Best is Yet to Come!

The world is poised for a decade of unprecedented change in transportation design. Evolutions in technology, legislation, consumer taste and mobility needs will transform the automotive landscape worldwide. This is your chance to predict, or even influence, the vehicles that will be driven ten years from now in the year 2021.

Your challenge is to design a vehicle that people in your area (country /region) will enjoy using in the year 2021. This vehicle should answer the preferences, lifestyle and transportation needs for the population in your part of the world.

Benefits of entry in Michelin Challenge Design include a formal review by a jury of prominent transportation designers who share a passion for vehicle design and innovation. Each year the selected Michelin Challenge Design entries are displayed for a two-week exhibition and featured in a press conference at the North America International Auto Show in Detroit - offering an outstanding addition to any designer's portfolio.
