Morgan Eva GT: Teaser sketch before launch at Pebble

The Morgan Eva GT Sketch - will debut at Pebble next week

Back in June we reported that Morgan are planning a new car – the Morgan Eva GT – which is destined to be a limited edition, four seat coupe. And that it was due to launch at the Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance later this year.

Well, it’s now ‘later this year’ and Pebble is almost upon us, Morgan has decided a further little tease to whet our appetites is called for before the real deal arrives next week. So they’ve released a sketch of the Eva GT, which frankly tells us not a lot.

I think we’re all bright enough to know that a sketch is always ‘More’ than the end creation, as the next stage – the Concept – is more than the production version. Although with a car like the Eva GT which will only be made in small numbers – and remembering that Morgan are nothing if not quirky for all their tradition – it’s possible that the concept will be the final car.

But we’d hoped for a bit more on the Eva GT, not just a sketch. So we really know nothing more than we did before except Morgan has had a sketch done. But of course what we do know is promising. Based on the Aeromax underpinnings with a BMW straight six turbo delivering 306bhp in a car weighing 1250kg should be fun. It will also be squeaky clean and able to meet Euro 6 regs.

Bring on Pebble for the meat.
