New Honda CR-V arrives – again

The 2013 Honda CR-V has been revealed ahead of a launch in to the UK market in October after a Paris Motor Show debut.

Regular readers may realise that this isn’t the first time we’ve announced the arrival of the new Honda CR-V.

Back in March we revealed the new Honda CR-V was on the way to the Genev Motor Show before launching in the UK in September.

But Honda consider the CR-V they took to Geneva to be a ‘prototype’, although we’re struggling to see any difference between the production car revealed this morning and the car at Geneva.

That means a new Honda CR-V that’s got slightly sharper styling than the old CR-V with a new nose and tail together with a new interior that looks more upmarket than the old model.

Under the bonnet is the familiar 2.2 litre i-DTEC diesel with 148bhp and 153g/km (195g/.km for the auto) or the 2.0 litre i-VTEC which has now been tweaked to give 153bhp and emissions of 174g/km for the manual and 195g/km for the auto.

The 4WD system gets a tweak to default to all wheel drive from the off, only changing to FWD when it detects no slip, and there will also be a FWD model. All CR-v models get upgrades to the suspension and steering.

The new Honda CR-V may not have turned in to the most dynamic and exciting compact SUV on the market, but the changes have made the CR-V more appealing if what you’re looking for is reliable and efficient transport with a raised ride height and decent ability to cope with adverse conditions.

We still have no price for the 2013 Honda CR-V, but it will go on sale in October in the UK.
