Nissan Qazana (2010) caught testing

The Nissan Qazana shot testing - complete with what looks like bin-bag disguise

I know, it’s not the easiest thing to work out from the picture above, but this is Nissan’s sub Qashqai Crossover – the Nissan Qazana – caught out testing recently. Which goes to show that the Qazana is well on track for amid 2010 launch and production at Nissan’s Sunderland plant.

The Qazana – when it debuted at Geneva this year – was a daring concept, to say the least. Looking like a cross between a moon buggy and a design excercise it was, nevertheless, a really interesting take on a funky urban crossover.

It soon became clear that Nissan were intent on pushing ahead with the Qazana after the workforce at Sunderland had a Qazana presentation earlier this year. And who can blame Nissa? They’ve had huge success with the Qashqai and a stand-out crossover at a lower price pooint could be a big seller. Which isn’t just good news for Nissan, but good news for Sunderland as the Qazana will be produced in the North East.

It looks like much of the style is carrying over from the concept, and even the off-the-wall interior is rumoured to be carrying over almost undiluted from the concept.

Victory favours the bold.
