No new Top Gear Series until 2013

Top Gear leader Jeremy Clarkson has revealed to South African Sasha Martinengo on Ballz Radio that there won’t be a new series of Top Gear until 2013.

Under normal circumstances we’d expect a new series of Top Gear to arrive in the Autumn of 2012. But it seems not.

Jeremy Clarkson, being interviewed by South African Sasha Martinengo on Ballz Radio, has said that the only time he, Hammond and May will work together for the remainder of 2012 is for the Top Gear Live shows (although there WILL be a Top Gear Christmas Special).

Could it be that the BBC won’t have enough money left after the London 2012 Olympics to pay for Top Gear?

Or could it be that Richard is lost in the Masai Mara, James is busy on a 200 day explanation of the inner workings of an atom and Jeremy’s been banned from the UK until the Queen’s had her jubilee, Cameron has explained the lunch with Rebekah and there’s no chance of him commenting on Olympic committee members and bulging brown envelopes? Apparently not – it’s all Simon Cowell’s fault.

According to Jeremy Top Gear won’t be back for a new series in the autumn because ’… Sunday nights then will be full of fat people singing’. His Twitter feed made it clear:

So that’s it then – just a Top Gear Christmas Special and no new Top Gear Series until 2013.
