Thu, 26 Aug 2010

WITH VIDEO -- A 19-year-old Ohio man is hospitalized in serious condition, three days after his car went airborne in the median of Interstate 675 near Dayton and crashed into the concrete center support of a bridge. The crash demolished the car, a Pontiac Firebird. The driver, Brennan Eden, was thrown from the car during the crash. Police closed a portion of the highway for five hours after the crash on Monday morning.

The crash was recorded by the dashboard camera of a police car that was traveling down the interstate. In the video, the car Eden was driving passes the police car on the left shoulder of the road, drives down into the grassy median and is launched into the air when it ran into a crossover. The airborne car rotates toward the left before the right rear of the car hits the concrete bridge support and is shattered.

Ohio state police continue to investigate the crash.
