One Lap of the Web: 2014 Corvette Stingray walk-around, RM Auctions and a 1964 Volvo PV544

Wed, 31 Jul 2013

We spend a lot of time on the Internet -- pretty much whenever we're not driving, writing about or working on cars. Since there's more out there than we'd ever be able to cover, here's our daily digest of car stuff on the Web you may not otherwise have heard about.

-- We recently drove the ’14 Corvette Stingray and were extremely impressed with its agility. Check out how the ’Vette’s suspension helps make it a track star, courtesy of Edmunds.

-- Take a look at Hemming’s Find of the Day, the beloved 1964 Volvo PV544. Built from 1958 to 1965, this specific model is being sold by the owner, who claims that zero work needs to be done. Claim your piece of rolling Swedish history here.

-- Up for grabs at the upcoming RM Auctions in Monterey (Aug. 16-17) is a 1974 McLaren M16C. This specific car was the winner of the ’74 Indy 500, driven by Johnny Rutherford. The car is valued around $1,250,000-$1,750,000, according to RM. Grab your wallets and some plane tickets; we’ll see you there.

-- Time to get all nostalgic and indulge in some history of Toyota’s iconic Supra. Ride with Japanese Nostalgic Car as they give some neat details about the underappreciated first-generation car.
