Porsche Cayenne GTS Design Edition 3 special release

Porsche has injected a little more flair into its SUV with the debut of the Cayenne GTS Design Edition 3. Following the Cayman S and Boxster S Design Editions, the Cayenne receives a thorough visual makeover from the Porsche Design Studio.

Designers began by covering the Cayenne’s sheetmetal with lava grey metallic paint with three design stripes down the center of the hood and one stripe along the lower door panels. The entire package rides on 21-inch SportPlus wheels, and a double-wing profile rear spoiler is available as a no-cost option.

The cabin is covered in black leather with red contrast stitching on the door panels and dashboard and carbon-fiber trim pieces. Front headrests feature embossed Porsche logos, and center-seat inserts are done in Alcantara. The Porsche Design Edition 3 label marks the front-door sill plates, tachometer and serial-number plate in the glove compartment.

The mechanicals are untouched, with the 4.8-liter V8 producing 405 hp that comes standard with a six-speed automatic transmission and sport exhaust system.

Completing the special edition is an exclusive Porsche Design watch for the owner and a four-piece luggage set.

The Cayenne GTS Design Edition 3 is limited to 1,000 vehicles worldwide; fewer than 100 units will make it to the United States. Pricing begins at $90,875, and the vehicle will be available at Porsche dealers late this summer.
