1957 Ferrari 625 TRC Spider

RM Auctions has added a rare 1957 Ferrari 625 TRC Spider to its list of desirable Ferraris offered at May’s Monaco auction.

RM Auction’s Monaco sale takes place the same weekend as the Monaco Grand Prix in May, and we’re starting to wonder which will be the biggest attraction after RM revealed a new addition to their list of ultra rare and desirable Ferraris up for auction at their event.

The 1957 Ferrari 625 TRC Spider – chassis #0680 MDTR – is the rarest of all TRs made and is one of just two factory-built TRCs. It’s got a huge, well-documented history from new and was first owned by John von Neumann, a founding member of the California Sports Car Club and a West Coast Ferrari distributor.

Racing mainly in the States, this TRC did run in a couple of events in Europe after being collected from Maranello before being shipped to the States. It won the Chopard Award for Presentation and Performance at the Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance and comes with its original 2.5 litre (matching numbers) four-cylinder engine.

RM’s Shelby Myers, who was with RM in the UK and has now moved back to RM in the States – and presents the video below – said:

The 625 TRC is widely regarded as one of the most beautiful of all historic Ferraris. Fresh to the market and eligible for the world’s leading events, its sale represents an opportunity not to be missed. We are honoured to have been entrusted by its long-term gentleman owner to present this vehicle at our forthcoming Monaco sale.

Other desirable Ferraris on offer include:

RM Auction’s Monaco sale runs on 11th and 12th May at the Grimaldi Forum.
