Ram truck gains luxury Laramie Longhorn trim

Chrysler has added a new luxury trim level to its Ram Truck lineup, the Laramie Longhorn edition.

The Laramie Longhorn incorporates a western theme inside and out. Details include western-style Laramie Longhorn badges and painted accents. The truck's interior will be predominately covered with leather and wood accents.

Chrysler is not making any mechanical or powertrain changes to the Ram Truck lineup for the Laramie Longhorn trim. Standard equipment includes remote start, navigation system and back-up camera.

The Laramie Longhorn trim will be offered on the Ram 1500, 2500 and 3500 models.

"We took Ram Laramie Longhorn's design cues from traditionally handcrafted, time-tested wares, such as the antique pocket watch, a fine pair of hand-tooled leather cowboy boots, a collector's-grade shotgun or a horseman's saddle," said Ryan Nagode, design program lead.

Ram Laramie Longhorn models go on sale in early 2011.
