Range Rover Evoque Autobiography Dynamic gets 281bhp. Debuts at Geneva

Range Rover Evoque Autobiography Dynamic (pictured) gets 281bhp

We’ve been expecting Land Rover to deliver a proper performance version of the Range Rover Evoque, even more so with the arrival of the impressively performing Porsche Macan. But if this new Evoque – the Range Rover Evoque Autobiography Dynamic – is the ultimate  performance version of the Evoque it’s not going to stand up on-road to the new Macan, even if it does look a lot better.

Still, extra power and more goodies is never a bad thing, so an Evoque with 281bhp and more equipment is not to be sniffed at, even if it’s likely to cost £50k or more.

The extra power in the Evoque Autobiography Dynamic is a not insignificant 44bhp and 44lb/ft of torque for the existing 2.0 turbo petrol, and the Evoque also gets a re-calibrated 9-speed ZF ‘box for better response and uprated steering too.

Tweaks to the suspension see the geometry modified, dampers re-calibrated and springs firmed up with Land Rover’s Torque Vectoring by Braking fitted for better handling.

Cosmetic changes for the Autobiography Dynamic (which you can have in either 3 or 5-door) include a new grill and front valance, ‘jewel’ headlights and tail lights, 20″ alloys, Autobiography badging and a new ‘performance’ colour option for the Dynamic – Phoenix Orange – along with a choice of sports or premium climate seats in four colours and Autobiography headrests and tread plates.

Also on offer will be a new Autobiography spec for the Evoque with a choice of the regular diesel or petrol engines and an upgraded interior plus the arrival of Land Rover’s inControl Apps fro more seamless integration with smartphones.

The new Range Rover Evoque Autobiography Dynamic and Evoque Autobiography will debut at the Geneva Motor Show next month but won’t go on sale until October 2014 as a 2015 model.
