Rennsport Reunion video: Porsche chases Porsche at Laguna Seca

The Rennsport Reunion is the world's largest gathering of Porsche race cars, and this year it touched down at Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca in California.

We've seen the family portrait of Porsche race cars and we've seen historic race cars laying rubber at the famed track. But if you thought Porsche's new crop of sheetmetal was absent, you'd be wrong.

The 2012 Porsche 911 was there to shoot a little promotional video. The only problem was finding a chase car that could keep up. Enter Porsche factory driver Patrick Long, sports-car champion Leh Keen and the Porsche Cayman R.

The next step was to stick a bunch of cameras on the chase vehicle and let them go for it. The result is an extremely professional-looking video shot by hot shoes in one lapping session. There might have been some creative editing work, but the finished video is just as good as many million-dollar-production commercials we've seen.
