Rolls Royce Phantom Spirit of Ecstasy Centenary Collection

We’re rather hoping Rolls Royce will stick to convention and not plaster the name of this limited edition Rolls Royce Phantom across the boot lid, because even the Rolls Royce Phantom would struggle to accommodate ‘Rolls Royce Phantom Spirit of Ecstasy Centenary Collection‘ in  chromed lettering.

But the catchy little moniker for this Limited Edition Phantom does at least tell the story. Rolls Royce are producing a run of 100 Phantoms to celebrate the centenary of the Spirit of Ecstasy, incorporating a suite of features inspired by Ecstasy and offering exclusive paint jobs, veneers and leather.

The ‘Features Inspired by the Legendary Flying Lady’ include the Spirit of Ecstasy cast in silver and mounted atop a black-gold plated bezel bearing the inscription “Spirit of Ecstasy Centenary – 2011″. The same inscription is also on the cover when Ecstasy retracts.

There are new badges and insignia, with a new Rolls Royce Logo featuring the RR in white enamel on a black background. There’s a trademark RR twin coachline accentuated by a hand-painted Spirit of Ecstasy insignia and the glovebox carries an embossed quotation from Charles Sykes, creator of the mascot. It reads:

“A graceful little goddess, the Spirit of Ecstasy, who has selected road travel as her supreme delight and alighted on the prow of a Rolls-Royce motor car to revel in the freshness of the air and the musical sound of her fluttering draperies.” – Charles Sykes, 1911

Lots of tweaked bits and pieces on the interior add to the exclusive leathers and veneers to mark out the RR as a Spirit of Ecstasy Centenary Collection. And to round off the special, every owner will get a polished steel Spirit of Ecstasy mounted on a piano black base. These will be presented with individual certificates of authenticity signed by Rolls-Royce Motor Cars CEO Torsten Müller-Ötvös. That’ll seal the deal, we’re sure.

How much? How much do you want to spend?
