The Bugatti Type 46 Profilee - the latest 'New' Bugatti!

One of the big treats was the first public view of a ‘New’ Bugatti T46 Profilee. One of only two T46 Profilee bodied cars known to exist, the chassis on this car has never been used on the road since manufactured in 1931. It recently got a recreated Profilee body – supervised by the Bugatti Trust – making this the first new Bugatti T46 Profilee for nearly 70 years.

Also on view was a 1933 Jaguar SS Coupe. Launched in 1931, the SS1 set the style for Jaguars to follow. It offered real ‘Grace and Pace’ as well as decent value. Although over 1,000 SS1s were made, just nineteen are known to have survived and just three of those are roadworthy.

With everything from an Auburn to a Hispano Suiza and a Delahaye to a Bentley, there was a great deal of beautiful, and expensive, classic machinery on view.

We’ve put up a gallery of some of the best Classic Cars at this year’s Salon Prive below.
