Scion sets sticker prices on limited-production xD, xB models

Thu, 29 Sep 2011

Scion has set base pricing for its 2012 limited-production xD and xB automatic models at $16,980 and $18,840, respectively, including delivery charges.

For the manual-transmission versions, prices for the xD and the xB increase to $17,780 and $19,790 respectively.

Both models debuted at the Texas State Fair on Thursday and are slated to begin filtering into dealerships in October.

Scion will build 800 copies of the 2012 xD Release Series 4.0. It is exclusively available painted in “Blizzard Pearl,” which continues into the interior with spot color treatment on the center console, the steering wheel and the door panels. The seat material has white stitching to match, and the floor mats and cargo mats have white borders and Release Series logos to complete the look.

For those seeking a louder style, a “Hot Lava” theme will mark the 1,500 production units of the 2012 xB Release Series 9.0. A honeycomb-pattern grille is unique to the series as well. For a bit of flair and easy identification in the dark, front and rear Scion badges light up on the exterior when remotely locking or unlocking the car.

Inside, the xB has suedelike material on the front and rear seats, with embossed Scion logos and color detailing to match the exterior hue.

The xD and the xB both have the new Pioneer audio system that Scion is making standard on all 2012 models. It has hands-free Bluetooth and HD radio.
