Sergio Marchionne’s Dodge Challenger to be auctioned for charity

Tue, 12 Mar 2013

Chrysler CEO Sergio Marchionne will auction his personal 2011 Dodge Challenger SRT8 392 at the Barrett-Jackson auction in Palm Beach, Fla. in April. The Challenger is painted in Pitch black accented with charcoal racing stripes hand-laid by SRT designers, and all proceeds from the sale will benefit the United Way for Southeastern Michigan charity.

The charity’s annual giving campaign was launched in September with a $35 million fundraising goal. Campaign chair Marchionne kicked off the annual event with a symbolic torch-lighting ceremony in Detroit’s Hart Plaza.

The one-of-one Challenger is lowered with Mopar adjustable coilovers and features a Mopar exhaust. The taillights are tinted and the “392” logos have been recreated with gloss and satin black finishes. The factory 20-inch wheels are also done in black.

The interior is basically stock except for the custom black leather seats. SRT logos are embroidered on the headrests, while the instrument cluster is equipped with the standard information center and performance gauges.

The 6.4-liter Hemi is also stock, making 470 hp and 470 lb-ft of torque. That’s good for a 60-mph sprint in the high four-second range and a claimed 23 mpg on the highway.
