Shelby American to host Shelby Vegas bash

Fri, 07 Mar 2014

The 2014 Shelby Vegas Bash is set to begin April 14, leading right into the 50th birthday celebration of the Mustang Club of America.

“With the Shelby Vegas Bash leading into the MCA 50th birthday celebration, we're expecting this year to be bigger and better than ever,” said Joe Conway, CEO of Shelby American. “This will be the first opportunity to host Shelby members and enthusiasts at our new world headquarters in the heart of Las Vegas.”

The Pacific Coast Team Shelby Region will start the event with a 300-mile drive from Palm Springs, Calif., to the Shelby headquarters, which will have many cars on display, along with live music and a meet and greet.

The following day, showgoers will gather at the South Point Hotel to tour a private automobile collection that features several rare Shelbys. The group will then head out on a 150-mile poker run up through the Valley of Fire, ending up at the new Shelby Heritage Center to celebrate the grand opening.

The final day of the event will feature the Shelby American car show and award ceremony at the headquarters. Later, Mustangs and Cobras will invade the strip for the MCA birthday celebration.

The MCA party will run April 17–20 and will require separate registration through the MCA.

“Shelby American will be fully participating in all MCA 50th-birthday celebration activities, including my personal favorite: open track time at Las Vegas Motor Speedway,” said Gary Patterson, factory driver and vice president of sales.
