Subaru will offer a stripped down version of the BRZ in the UK

Subaru UK has revealed that the UK version of the Subaru BRZ will come in three versions, including a ‘Stripped Down’ option.

The Subaru BRZ will come in three versions when it arrives in the UK, say Subaru UK, with an entry-level ‘Stripped-Down’ version for those who want to tweak their BRZ to suit or for track events.

The top spec Subaru BRZ will come with 17″ alloys, torque sensing limited slip diff, Climate, LED running lights, a plethora of air bags and MP3 connectivity. All models will also get Subaru’s Vehicle Dynamic Control (VDC) and you can opt for a six-speed short-shift manual or flappy paddle auto ‘box.

As well as the range-topping version of the BRZ and the back to basics stripped out BRZ, Subaru say they will also offer a mid-range version. Both the mid-range and stripped out versions of the BRZ will arrive later in 2012.

There will be a choice of six paint jobs for the BRZ - WR Blue Mica, Sterling Silver, Satin White, Crystal Black Silica, Dark Grey Metallic and San Remo Red – and all BRZs will get Subaru’s ETCo after care package free of charge which offers loads of after car benefits which Subaru say would cost you £7k.

Unlike the Toyota GT 86 (which costs from £24,995) Subaru hasn’t given us UK prices for the BRZ yet. But it’s certain that the stripped down version will be less than the GT 86 start price.
