Suzuki S-Cross Crossover SUV: Paris 2012

Thu, 27 Sep 2012

Suzuki has revealed the S-Cross crossover / SUV at the Paris Motor Show. The S-Cross will replace the SX4 and go on sale in 2013.

The Suzuki S-Cross – a compact crossover come SUV – was teased ahead of its debut at Paris 2012 today, and a decent offering it looks.

The S-Cross is Suzuki’s first move to make a real mark in Europe with a new model line-up and is designed to be Suzuki’s first foray – in a big way – in to the competitive C-Segment crossover market.

Suzuki say the S-Cross is designed for comfort and practicality and will have one of the largest luggage areas in its segment and will have decent on-road manners.

The design of the S-Cross is much more contemporary than Suzuki’s current range with nice flowing, rounded lines with LEd lights and an organic design which, say Suzuki, suggest the muscles of an animal. Hmm.

There’s a mesh front grill with dark and silky chrome, roof rails – which sit flush to the roof when not in use – an almost coupe roofline, front skidplate, flared wheel arches and 20″ alloys.

The S-Cross will probably be a bit tamer than this for production, but it’s a convincing effort from Suzuki and could replace the SX4, complete with a choice of diesel an petrol engines with 2WD or 4WD.
