Top Gear Series 19: Video trailer & 1st episode details

Sat, 19 Jan 2013

Series 19 of Top Gear returns to BBC 2 on 27th January, and we have a video trailer and details of the first episode.

It’s been a bit odd without Top Gear on our screens (well, new Top Gear episodes), but normal service will resume on 27th January as series 19 of Top Gear returns to BBC2.

Ahead of the first episode of series 19 (there will be seven episodes in total), the Beeb is making sure we know there’s a new Top Gear series coming with a short video trailer, and the BBC has also sent us details of the first episode.

In the first episode of series 19, Jeremy is on a mission to build a new car that’s even smaller than the Peel P50 and, having cobbled it together in typical Top Gear fashion, he takes to the streets of London to try it out and gauge feedback.

Jeremy also gets feedback on his new urban runaround from the Dragons Den entrepreneurs (which no longer includes James Caan, who invested in the Peel P50) with, we’re sure, less than stellar success.

On the real car front, Richard Hammond gets to go to heaven with the new Pagani Huayra on the track at Dunsfold. Will he love it as much as he did the Pagani Zonda, and how quick will the Huayra go round the Top Gear track in the hands of the Stig?

This first episode of series 19 also sees James May taking the new Bentley Continental GT Speed Rallying in Wales as co-driver to Kris Meeke, and the Star in a Reasonably Prices Car is actor Damien Lewis.

Time to set the SKY+: Top Gear Series 19 Episode 1 8pm BBC2 Sunday 27th January.
