Used Volvos for sale: First $290K takes both

Wed, 20 Feb 2013

Having decided to focus solely on their Pirelli World Challenge GT effort involving Volvo's S60, K-PAX racing has decided to sell off their two-year-old C30s. Given that 2013 is the production car's last hurrah, it makes sad sense that Volvo's not too interested in campaigning a machine that will soon be vacating showrooms.

Built in 2011 to compete in the World Challenge Touring Class, the pair managed six poles and five wins under the sure hands and feet of Robb Holland and Aaron Povoledo. The following year, one car was converted to US Touring Car spec and scored one victory, six podiums and three poles, ultimately winning the championship for driver Robert Thorne and Volvo.

Though it largely sat out the 2012 season, Thorne ran the Volvo in the World Challenge event at Sears Point, taking both the pole and the win.

The Sino-Swedish racers can be purchased for $140,000 apiece or $290k for both C30s and a spare parts package.

No word as to whether one or both of the cars cars ran when parked. Or whether a complimentary packet of Swedish fish is included in the deal. We'd like to think there is.
