Vauxhall Zafira Tourer gets BiTurbo Beef

Wed, 30 Jan 2013

The Zafira Tourer gets a new range-topper with the launch of the Vauxhall Zafira Tourer BiTurbo with 192bhp. Price from £27,685.

The launch of a range-topping Vauxhall Zafira Tourer BiTurbo, with the very decent BiTurbo diesel from the Insignia and Astra (and for that matter, the new Vauxhall Cascada) means you don’t have to poodle round like a good family man when you transport your brood.

That’s because the Zafira Tourer BiTurbo offers 192bhp and 295lb/ft of torque, enough to propel Vauxhall’s MPV to 62mph in 8.5 seconds and on to a top speed of 135mph. Despite that (as long as you don’t have your foot to the carpet all the time) the BiTurbo Zafira will return 50.4mpg (and therefore emits 149g/km).

You can grab the Zafira BiTurbo in SE, SRi or Elite spec, all of which come with Vauxhall’s Flex7 seating, with options including Panoramic Roof, Adaptive Lights and Adaptive Chassis.

Duncan Aldred, Vauxhall’s MD, said of the new BiTurbo Zafira:

Vauxhall is currently the only manufacturer to offer a sophisticated BiTurbo engine on a seven-seat MPV.

It provides a perfect blend of high performance, impressive fuel economy and premium class quality in a seven-seat layout.

Prices for the new Vauxhall Zafira Tourer BiTurbo start at “27,685 for the SE model and first deliveries are expected in spring 2013.
