And they didn’t get on in the latest Top Gear test when Jeremy (in a Nissan LEAF) and James (in a Peugeot iOn) set out to demonstrate the shortcomings of EVs, the same shortcomings we we bang on about constantly. The piece by Andy Wilman on Top Gear’s site is in response to an article in the Times, where Nissan complain that ‘…‘Clarkson didn’t give our electric cars a sporting chance.’ But he did, with the Top Gear piece designed to do nothing more than debunk the claims companies like Nissan make for their electric cars.

That the background growl of the W12 is audible is a pleasant surprise; Bentley has chosen not to make the Speed experience a silent one. A prod on the throttle is enough to entice the Speed to leave its stationary position with something very close to instant acceleration.
Underground Racing Lamborghini cracks 250 mph--watch the video
Sun, 25 Apr 2010Earlier this year, we told you about Underground Racing, a shop in Charlotte, N.C., that makes a business out of upgrading Lamborghinis with twin turbochargers to boost engine output to more than 1,000 hp. Now, a Lamborghini Gallardo Superleggera upfitted by Underground Racing cracked the 250-mph mark at the Texas Mile event. Car owner Richard Holt made the 250.1-mph run in late March, but video was posted just this week.
