This could be your first autonomous vehicle
Thu, 09 Jan 2014While Google's autonomous fleet of robot cars prowls Silicon Valley and gets all the press, the first, or one of the first, truly autonomous vehicles you may ride in could be something like this: The humble, people-moving Navia. Developed by a French company called Induct, the Navia is ringed with laser beams (not frickin' laser beams. Ed.) that help it navigate through city streets or college campuses without the aid of a track in the ground, a rail or even GPS (GPS is not accurate enough, Induct says).
Vauxhall Insignia facelift revealed for 2014
Wed, 12 Jun 2013The Vauxhall Insignia gets a facelift for 2014 with new engines and lower prices The Vauxhall Insignia is a more than decent car – and a big improvement on the Vectra that went before – but it’s now almost five years old so it’s time for a bit of a facelift. Vauxhall has revealed the updated Insignia for 2014 that gets a decent raft of changes, both cosmetically and under the skin, to make it better to live with and more economical. Sensibly, Vauxhall has cut the bewildering range of Insignia trim levels from 14 to eight (do they need even that many?), with Design Trim at the bottom and Elite trim at the top, and the new Insignia Design starting at £16,279 – £3500 less than the old Insignia ES.
Top Gear Veyron vs McLaren – the Video
Sun, 05 Jul 2009McLaren F1 vs Bugatti Veyron - the Top Gear Video On paper, you would expect the Veyron to crush the McLaren F1. After all, it’s a much newer car and much more powerful, with 1,000bhp as compared to the McLaren F1′s relatively paltry 627bhp. But the McLaren is lighter and nimbler, so it’s less unequal than the numbers on paper may first suggest.
