  • Stainless steel high quality turning knob with teflon washers and adjustable tension.
  • Fits all standard 3/4" tapered shaft helms.
  • Steering wheel INCLUDES a 5/8" -18 retaining nut .

Be sure to choose the correct steering wheel/nut combination 
SeaStar hydraulic helms and Verado helms use a 5/8"-18 nut, 
Teleflex manual cable type steering helms use a 1/2"-20 nut. 
UFLEX/Ultraflex helms are made in Italy and use a metric nut.

This Autoweek archives piece comes from March 1980, when Bob Irvin and Bob Hall explored the fabled--and failed--Pontiac Trans Am wagon. In the late 1970s, the Pontiac Firebird Type K (Kammback) was explored as a way to inject some life into the aging F-body lineup. After a concept build by Pontiac Motor Division, vice president of design Bill Mitchell had two 1977 models constructed in Italy by famed Ferrari designer Sergio Pininfarina.

Jointly designed by Renault teams in France, Turkey and Romania, the C-segment three-box sedan was developed in 26 months. With a length of 4260mm and a height of 1430mm, the Symbol/Thalia is a no-frills design with abstained lines and surfaces and a larger DLO to body ratio when compared to other European-styled vehicles.
