LEFTOVER HARDWARE FROM PARTING OUT MY 1980 HONDA CB900C CUSTOM LAST YEAR

What you see is what you get.

A must have for anyone working on their own bike. It will pay for itself by saving you just one trip to the dealer for a lost or damaged bolt or other part, especially if it needs to be ordered and you have to wait a couple of weeks for it.

Hopefully someone can use this and I can get a few dollars for the parts rather than just throwing them out.

Parts will fit many other years and applications; check your favorite online source or contact your dealer to know for sure.

Last summer I parted out my 1980 Honda CB900 Custom, which I had owned since 1982. About all that is left are the engine and transmission components, and some

Last summer I parted out my 1980 Honda CB900 Custom, which I had owned since 1982. The bike was running well and being ridden regularly up until May of 2008, at which time it lost spark on two cylinders. After riding it home and replacing the ignition pulse generator, it ran on all four cylinders, but had no power. A compression checked showed very low compression on cylinders 1 and 4. It had been sitting covered in the garage since then. Rather than rebuilding the engine, I decided to part out the bike to make room in the garage for something newer.

I am basically down to the engine and transmission components, miscellaneous parts (foot pegs, wiring harnesses, levers, clamps, brackets, relays, etc.). All of the higher demand parts (gas tank, side covers, exhaust, gages, headlamp, fenders, chrome trim, controls, handlebars, charging system, ignition system, air shocks, brakes, oil pump, starter) have been sold off.

Please don't bid if you want these parts to be new, because they aren’t. But I did take very good care of this bike. The bike was never in an accident. Many of the parts are as good as you’ll be able to find; all of the parts will be good enough to get your bike on the road again. Every part will have something wrong as they are used (and 33 years old). If it's bad, I try to mention it, but I don’t list every scuff, dimple, scratch, pit, or rust spot. Please do look at my feedback on parts from this bike which have been sold.

Shipping cost is based on actual package weight, size, and zip code (unless using USPS Flat Rate boxes) and generally only includes a “handling” charge if I have to purchase shipping materials (to cover the cost); mostly I use recycled shipping materials and try to ship the most economical method. I will combine shipping, but doing so may delay shipping a day or two as I will need to repackage your items.

·         I do my best to accurately and honestly describe all items, but since this is a used item and I have no control over its installation or usage, it is sold “As-Is

·         If there is a problem with your item, please let me know before leaving neutral or negative feedback, as I would like the opportunity to make it right. I try to always leave feedback after you are satisfied.

Tue, 05 Nov 2013

MITSUBISHI and the existing Renault-Nissan alliance are set to work together on a series of new cars. Discussions aren’t finished but as part of the deal Mitsubishi will get hold of a Renault chassis large enough to use as a base a full-size saloon for the North American market. The firms will also further develop an electric version of a Japan-only ‘kei car’.

OnStar 'ignition block' disables stolen vehicles

Tue, 21 Jul 2009

OnStar, General Motors' in-vehicle safety and communications system, has launched a service to keep car thieves from starting a vehicle that has been reported stolen. As of July 20, three stolen cars had been disabled by the technology, called "remote ignition block." The feature is available on select 2009 and 2010 GM models. Subscribers must report their vehicles stolen to police officials and request assistance from OnStar, which then sends a signal that prevents the car from restarting.
