GM throttles back on performance cars for 2010
Fri, 08 May 2009It should not be a surprise, as General Motors scrambles to cut costs and cars sit unsold on dealers' lots, that the automaker is cutting high-performance versions of several vehicles for the 2010 model year. According to information from online ordering guides made available to GM dealers, the 2009 model year is the last for the Chevrolet Impala SS, the Pontiac G6 GXP and the Cadillac STS-V. Also, the SS trim in the Chevy Cobalt lineup will be limited to the coupe body style.
Drink driving deaths UP by 25%
Thu, 17 Oct 2013Drink-drive related road deaths rose by 25% last year, with a staggering one in six fatalities on the UK’s roads connected to alcohol consumption, according to the latest government figures. Department for Transport (DfT) data revealed that 290 people lost their lives through drink-drive crashes during 2012, marking a significant increase from the 230 individuals killed in 2011. Thu, 09 Jul 2009Audi has released details of their third 'e' car - The Audi A4 2.0 TDIe In another in the series of ‘Here’s an even lower emission model than the last one’ series, Audi has announced details of the Audi A4 2.0 TDIe, a 2.0 litre A4 which manages to cut emissions and lower fuel consumption. The A4 TDIe will supplement the existing A4 2.0 litre TDI range – 118bhp, 141bhp and 158bhp – and becomes the third Audi to get the ‘e’ badge – the others being the Audi A3 1.9 TDIe and the Audi A6 2.0 TDIe Audi’s range of TDIe cars use a very similar route to other manufacturers to achieve some pretty spectacular headline figures. This new A4 2.0 TDIe gets the same frugal engine as the A6 2.0 TDIe, which offers 134bhp from it 2.0 litre common-rail diesel.
