Jaguar brings one-off XKR, Gentilozzi rocket to Goodwood
Wed, 01 Jul 2009Jaguar will have an auspicious presence at the Goodwood Festival of Speed this weekend: it's bringing a one-off, lime green XKR and the record-breaking XFR driven by Paul Gentilozzi at the Bonneville Salt Flats. The one-off XKR is called the Goodwood Special and is based on a 2010 model-year car. It has 21-inch wheels, a lowered ride height and a louder exhaust system.

The redesigned XC90 crossover due in 2014 will be the first to use the architecture. German car maker Audi thinks it may have the answer, as it’s developed a system that ‘talks’ to traffic lights. The goal is to save fuel by alerting drivers to when lights change so they can slow down, plus prime a car’s engine stop-start system when a change from red to green is imminent.
