I purchased this camshaft and several other engine parts from a local engine rebuilder who recently closed down after many years in business.

As you can see by my photos, this is a new Chevrolet Camshaft that is still in it's original shipping tube with the part number #3896962.  From what I understand, it is original and correct for a 1969-70 Corvette 350 engine with 350 horsepower.

It is in excellent original condition and has never been used, ran or installed in an engine.  There are no nicks, dings, rust or any corrosion, however there are 2 very small speckles at the end of the camshaft, they are not pits that can be felt with your fingernail, please see my close-up photo of this area.

There is no part number stamped into either end of the camshaft but GM and the number 1539 are cast into the side of it,  please see my photos.

I did receive another camshaft identical to this one but in slightly used condition.  My second to last photo shows the same casting number 1539 and the last photo shows the part number  #3896962 stamped into the one end.

From what I understand, it's correct and original for a 1969-1970 Corvette with a 350/350 engine.  It could also be correct for a Camaro or a Nova.  I am unsure so please do your research and check the number to see if it will work for you.

I am sure you understand how rare and hard it is to find a New Old Stock high performance camshaft that is still in it's original shipping tube. If you are restoring that "Special Car" and have been searching for an original GM Camshaft, you will find none better.

Please note, you are bidding on the NOS camshaft only, not the slightly used one I referenced in my ad.

Thank you for looking and good luck bidding.  Alternate payment methods are highly recommended and gladly accepted
