It can be used with or without a radio. You can simply connect 2 or 4 speakers to the amplifier and work everything directly from a Bluetooth enabled device, or it can be connected to any radio through an Amp Interface. When connected to a radio, it allows you to listen to all normal radio functions, then once your Bluetooth is enabled, the current sensing mutes the output from the radio and your streaming from your Bluetooth device begins.
