This is a used left side heat exchanger for a Volkswagon Beetle or Karmon Ghia.

This was on my Bug for a very short time replacing an original unit until I replaced the engine with another that came with new exchangers. This unit was removed from the engine and put on the shelf in the event I needed it.

It had been painted with Eastwood Company's "stainless finish" gray heat resistant paint though there is some surface rust from use. The levers and spring work perfectly and the flapper door closes itself and seals tight.
