***UP FOR AUCTION*** You are bidding on a long ago re-manufactured, rebuilt old stock, Carter brand, RBS series, 1 barrel carburetor # 7145. That is the code stamped on the unit. I crossed it to Tomco rebuilt 1-283. According to my old catalogs, this carburetor applies to 1971-1974 Ford and Mercury car & truck vehicles equipped with 250 c.i.d., 6 cylinder engines. THIS IS A RARE FIND AND PERHAPS A GREAT RESTORATION PIECE FOR THAT EARLY '70s Mustang or Comet L6. There are still some of these classic engines in service and this is a R.O.S. carb at a bargain price. It has never had gasoline in it since the rebuild and has been sitting in packaged storage for over 25 years. Fortunately, because of being stored in a CLIMATE-CONTROLLED warehouse, this piece is in a GOOD condition...It does exhibit dust, dirt and grime from the box lid being open a number of years. Please study photos for general overall condition of this item. You will receive what you see in the photos. This part is old stock from an auto parts warehouse. You or a carburetor repair specialist MAY need to clean and refurbish it a bit...AGAIN, it was re-manufactured over 25 years ago and has been sitting in storage ever since..."common sense"...it may need to be re-conditioned.
