UPC : 804314138462

Item Number: 4506537

Product Description

Heavy Duty Gas Shock Absorber, Rear with 0" Lift/Drop (18203.33) by Omix-Ada®. Shock absorbers dampen the oscillation of the suspension springs that occurs when the springs deflect in response to a bump or hole in the road. Without them the vehicle would just bounce up and down as the springs compressed and rebounded. Typically shocks fail by leaking or just wear out over a period of time. The mounting bushings can also deteriorate and make a shock loose, causing noise.

A typical shock absorber contains a piston attached to a rod, enclosed in a hydraulic cylinder. The piston has orifices that determine how fast it moves through the gas or oil filled cylinder. The shock's resistance to rapid extension or compression dampens the movement of the spring. Shocks should be inspected for physical damage like leakage, a damaged hydraulic cylinder and/or bent rod and worn mounting bushings. To check for wear, bounce the end of the vehicle. If it rebounds more than once the shock absorbers at that end of the vehicle are worn.

If you want to make your Jeep suspension perfect again, get the shock absorbers that are designed and manufactured specifically for your Jeep, from the Jeep experts at Omix-Ada. These shocks are made for the application so they'll fit with no modifications needed, and they'll bring back that OEM ride quality. Omix-Ada is so confident in the quality of these shock absorbers that they're backed by a 5-year limited warranty.
