Secret Service issues call for next presidential limousine

The Secret Service is mulling a replacement for Barack Obama's presidential limousine, the Cadillac-styled vehicle lovingly nicknamed "The Beast." News of the new limousine first reached the Internet via FedBizOpps.gov, the official site for Federal Business Opportunities, which provides listings and contracts for various government projects. Early Mercedes sells for £720,000

ONE OF the oldest surviving Mercedes cars has sold at auction for an astronomical fee. The Mercedes Simplex 28/32 HPs Phaeton eventually sold for £720,000 at the Coys auction house True Greats sale in London. Still in complete and roadworthy condition, the car was reported to be in superb, drivable condition before its sale, which was the first time it had been auctioned in its near-109-year life.

Opel and Auto Design and Styling magazine launch new sketch contest

Opel and Auto Design and Styling magazine have joined forces to launch the ‘Adam Seeks Eve' sketch competition. The competition, which is open to amateur and professional designers of all ages, asks participants to "sketch the ideal car partner for the Opel Adam." Designs can be a personalized Adam, a model inspired by it, or its next iteration. The winner will be awarded a free ticket to the AutoDesign Prague Automotive Design Conference and the AutoDesign Prague Workshop as well as being lent an Adam for a week.
