Chrysler ‘Thomas Special' steals the show at RM Meadow Brook auction
Wed, 28 Jul 2010Posting more than $10 million in total sales, RM Auctions' Vintage Motor Cars of Meadow Brook event had an unexpected top seller on July 24. After crossing the auction block at $858,000, a 1953 Chrysler coupe known as the “Thomas Special” became the event's headliner. It was estimated to sell for $350,000 to $500,000.
Breedlove's Back!
Thu, 08 May 2014Craig Breedlove, the land-speed racer who set records at over 400, 500 and 600 mph has a new race car on the drawing boards and is the feature of a couple other projects. We caught up with him recently in Los Angeles. It seems Breedlove always had a car project in the works; most recently, he took the Spirit of America Formula Shell LSRV to almost 700 mph on the Black Rock Desert in 1996.
2014 BMW 5-series revealed
Mon, 20 May 2013When the 2014 BMW 5-series goes on sale in August, the 528i will cost $50,425 while the V8-equipped 550i will sticker at $64,825. Those prices include a $925 destination charge. A diesel engine will be offered in the new 535d, for $57,525.
