Volvo V40 range gets new Drive-E engines

From May this year Volvo will update its V40 model, equipping the premium Swedish hatchback with its range of high-efficiency Drive-E engines and Volvo’s latest eight-speed automatic gearbox. This means the revised V40 line-up now offers an impressive performance to efficiency ratio, with 190hp on offer in the D4 turbodiesel variant, returning a claimed 74.3mpg combined with 99g/km CO2 when mated to the six-speed manual. Truckers in wrong-way driver alert

LIVES WERE SAVED after quick-thinking lorry drivers alerted motorway users to an elderly motorist heading the wrong way down the M6. The Central Motorway Police Group (CMPG) said hauliers on the northbound M6 in Warwickshire had "shadowed" the wrong-way driver, whose car was travelling north on the southbound carriageway. The motorist is thought to have suffered a major medical episode and is being treated in hospital.

Now the Blue Oval has released the first details of the new ST, with a refreshed look to emphasise its sporty position at the top of the Focus tree.So there's a new bumper, much shallower grille and more rectangular, swept-back headlamps at the front, giving a more techincal look. The rear has been refreshed, too, but the changes are less noticeable.
